Is HDTV Worth It?

A lot of people have been sitting on the sidelines with HDTV, hesitant to make the plunge. After all, HDTV involves confusing technological terms — plasma, LCD, and DLP to name but a few — and what seems to be a large monetary investment in order to get all the right equipment. But there have been significant drops in the prices of HDTV equipment, and don't forget that the government is forcing broadcasters to switch to high-definition broadcasts in the near future. All the major networks are now currently broadcasting their programming in HD, so really there's no reason anymore to not switch to HDTV as soon as you can. Plus you get so many benefits:

  • Better picture and sound quality — superior even to what you get on a DVD
  • Access to cool digital-only features like interactive programming guides
  • Movie-like viewing experience — see movies the way they were meant to be seen, but in the comfort of your own home

Let's face it, standard television is almost dead. Now's the time to make the switch, and you'll be quite happy with the results.
